Imran Khan Karachi Jalsa is about to happen (Dec 25), please post news in this thread. This will be possibly his biggest Jalsa.
Imran says Karachi specially needs change
Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan said on Friday that Karachi specially needed change because a handful of people had divided the city.
“There is a dire need for unity to get these forces out of the political arena.” He was addressing a select gathering of women at the house of social worker Nazli Waris Wada here on Friday. Khan said he had insisted her to come into politics but she was afraid.
He said that the Army should not indulge in politics and ruled out any chances of a martial law in the country. Commenting on Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s question that who had issued a visa to Osama bin Laden, Khan remarked that it was an irresponsible statement as it would encourage the wishful thinking of enemies who wanted to declare Pakistan as a failed state.
“Such a statement by the prime minister at this stage will further create havoc, as May 2 Abbotabad Commission’s proceedings are in progress. The PM’s remarks have endangered the country’s sovereignty,” he said.
“A silent revolution has begun and all the political forces are shocked from the PTI tsunami. In one house, the father is associated with one party while the mother and children have joined the PTI, thus bringing an in-house revolution,” he said, adding that the December 25 rally at Mazar-e-Quaid would bring a major breakthrough in the country’s political scenario.
When a journalist questioned whether Makhdoom Javed Hashmi would be
joining the PTI, Imran replied smilingly: “I have learnt that every bowl should not
be played in the match. Let the day come.”
He said: “The movement of change has been started, as the prevailing corruption has destroyed the institutions and the governance system had collapsed. Pakistan cannot survive without a change,” he said, urging all those present to take a firm stand against the “evil forces” in order to save the country and secure the future of the young generation.
“I could have lived outside Pakistan as there was much acceptability for me but I preferred to stay in Pakistan as I felt that there is no respect for Pakistanis in the world. This country has bestowed everything to its people but unfortunately it lacks honest leadership.”
He said that nobody listened to the 50 percent people living below poverty line. “They have been deprived of safe water, medical treatment, education and justice, while the rich are becoming richer.” He said the state’s affairs could not be run by a small chunk of the elite.
Imran reminded the people of the Egypt’s revolution when he repeatedly asked them to participate in Sunday’s rally. Welcoming all those who have recently joined the PTI — particularly Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Jehangir Tareen and Ishaq Khakwani — he said that the party would soon announce its policy in consultation with such seasoned politicians and experts.
Earlier, Shahd Mehmood Qureshi appealed the elite women to attend the PTI rally in large numbers, “although you are not used to participating in public meetings”. He also urged the civil society to attend the rally and show the entire world that intellectuals and women have now been dominating the country’s politics.
